Join our Community in its new Home - The Datorama Trailblazer Community Group!

It's been an amazing 3 years coming together in this forum to collaborate, innovate, support, and inspire each other about our shared usage of Datorama. While this is not quite a goodbye, we are excited to announce that we are getting a fresh start in our new home within the Salesforce Trailblazer Community. We have a ton of fun new content planned and you may even see the revival of some of our most popular posts from the past few years.

We’ll be keeping this group around for a bit for you to peruse, but as of November 15, we will no longer be allowing new posts or comments. Be sure to join our new group at https://www.salesforce.com/success-datorama to keep the conversation going.

We can’t wait to see you there!

  • Hi @sparkjohanna ,

Yes, there is a function that can get the exchange rate for you.
Here a couple of articles that can help you on the topic:

  • Hi again, @sparkjohanna !

Yes, you are correct. It is available in the mapping. If you want to do it post-data stream, I have a creative solution for you. (Have in mind, it has a limitation. You can only visualize the Media Cost by a date dimension. You will not be able to use another granularity. If you wish to use other granularity, you will need to use the above solution from the artil

    1) Create a dummy file that contains all the dates for which you need the exchange rate. Include past and future dates. As long of a date range as you need. The file does not need to contain any other column.

    2) Create a data stream with that file with the exact bucket (i.e. Ads, Conversions, etc.) as the data stream that uploads measurements to be converted with the Exchange rate.

    3) Map the Day column to the Date dimension and to the Main Entity Key (i.e. Media Buy Key). Then as a measurement map the exchange rate you need. For example:
    GET_EXCHANGE_RATE(csv['Day'],'EUR','USD')

    4) Then you can use this measurement in a calculated measurement in order to multiply it by the Media Cost.

I would actually recommend logging a ticket at [email protected] listing all data streams that you need exchange rate for and our Tier 2 team can perform a bulk update to map the exchange rate for these data streams. This way you will not need the additional setup and you will be able to use all granularities.

Let me know if you need anything else. :)
